Apple’s first foldable iPhone is coming to the Philippines later this year, with the iPhone Duo starting at PHP 159,990 for 256GB of storage.
The 512GB model is priced at PHP 175,990, while the 1TB and 2TB versions cost PHP 207,990 and PHP 254,990, respectively. Apple will offer the Duo in Night Sky and Star White.
An exact Philippine release date has yet to be announced. Apple’s local website currently tells customers to check back later for availability and says the device will arrive through Apple, select carriers, and partner stores later this year.
That puts the Philippines outside Apple’s initial rollout. Pre-orders in more than 70 countries and regions begin October 16 ahead of an October 23 release, with nearby markets including Malaysia, Singapore, and Vietnam among those named for the first wave.
The Duo is Apple’s first book-style foldable phone. It has a 5.4-inch outer OLED display and opens to a 7.6-inch OLED screen, with both supporting refresh rates of up to 120Hz.
It also comes with Apple’s A20 Pro chip and a version of iOS 27 adapted for the larger folding display, including the ability to run apps side by side.
Apple has made some less familiar choices for an iPhone as well. The Duo uses Touch ID in the side button instead of Face ID and supports the USB-C Apple Pencil, although Apple says Pencil support will arrive later this year.
More importantly for Filipino buyers, the Duo is eSIM-only worldwide and has no physical SIM tray. That means users will need an eSIM-compatible Philippine mobile service rather than simply moving a physical SIM card from an existing phone.
The Duo has two 48-megapixel rear cameras — a main camera and an ultra-wide — but no dedicated telephoto camera. Apple instead provides 0.5x, 1x, and 2x shooting options.
At 5.2mm thick when unfolded and 11.3mm when closed, the Duo weighs 254g and uses a titanium frame and hinge cover. Apple rates it IP68 for water and dust resistance.
Its price places it well above one of its most obvious competitors in the Philippine foldable market. Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold8 starts at PHP 109,990, making the entry-level iPhone Duo PHP 50,000 more expensive.
That premium means the Duo enters the market less as a direct replacement for a conventional iPhone and more as Apple’s high-end answer to existing foldables. For Philippine buyers interested in one, the remaining question is when Apple will actually begin taking local orders.
Apple has yet to announce Philippine pre-order and retail dates.
