Google has put the first five Googlebooks up for pre-order, revealing a launch lineup from Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo that starts at USD 899 (about PHP 56,000) in the US.
The Acer Googlebook 14 is the least expensive model at USD 899. The XPS Googlebook starts at USD 999 (about PHP 63,000), followed by the Lenovo Googlebook 15 at USD 1,099 (about PHP 69,000). The ASUS Googlebook 14 and HP Googlebook 14 both start at USD 1,299 (about PHP 82,000).
Acer, ASUS, and Lenovo use Intel Core Ultra 5 processors in their starting configurations. The XPS and HP models instead use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite. Google’s US comparison page lists 16GB RAM and 512GB storage for the five configurations shown.
The laptops differ more substantially in their displays and designs. Acer, ASUS, and HP use 14-inch 2.8K OLED touchscreens, while Lenovo has a larger 15.3-inch 2.8K OLED touchscreen. The XPS Googlebook uses a 13.4-inch 2.5K LCD touchscreen.
Googlebook runs software built on the Android technology stack with what Google describes as desktop foundations from ChromeOS. Google is positioning the platform around tighter integration with Android phones and Gemini features rather than as another tier of conventional Chromebook hardware.
That includes Cast My Apps for accessing phone apps from the laptop and Quick Access for finding content across devices. Googlebook also includes Magic Pointer, which can use Gemini to provide information or actions based on something shown on screen.
Google says every Googlebook uses premium materials and includes a touchscreen, haptic glass trackpad, backlit keyboard, and dedicated neural processing hardware. The Glowbar also returns as an exterior light that can indicate charging and react when Gemini is being used.
The five machines are scheduled to become available starting October 4. Google has not announced Googlebook pricing, availability, or a release date for the Philippines.
