Meta is starting a new business unit called Meta Enterprise Platform to offer its AI tools to companies and developers, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a September 28 announcement.
The unit will initially focus on the Muse agent, Meta Business Agent, Muse API, and Muse Code, according to Meta. The announcement did not say what the platform will cost, when it will be available, or which countries it will cover.
Chirantan “CJ” Desai will lead the unit as Chief Enterprise Platform Officer, reporting directly to Zuckerberg. He joins from MongoDB, where he was CEO and president.
Zuckerberg called the platform “the next major pillar” of Meta’s business. Desai said in a statement that security and privacy are built into Meta’s enterprise products from the outset, without giving details.
Most of the named products already exist. Meta said in June that more than one million businesses use Meta Business Agent on WhatsApp and Messenger. Its Business Agent Platform, introduced the same day, connects to services such as Shopify, Zendesk, and Shopee.
Muse, Meta’s personal AI agent introduced on September 8, is rolling out only in the US, according to the company. Meta has not said when or whether the platform will reach the Philippines.
