HONOR has launched the Magic9 Pro Max in China, putting its latest flagship around a dual 200-megapixel camera system developed with ARRI, Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip, and an 8,800mAh battery.
The phone starts at CNY 6,499 (about PHP 61,000) and went on sale in China on September 28.
The camera system pairs a 200-megapixel main camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor and f/1.57 aperture with a 200-megapixel telephoto using a 1/1.4-inch sensor and f/2.6 aperture. Both have optical image stabilization, while a 50-megapixel ultrawide completes the rear setup.
HONOR’s partnership with ARRI goes beyond color filters. ARRI CINEMA Mode supports the ARRI LogC3 curve, 10-bit color, ARRI Wide Gamut 3, and recording at up to 4K 60fps. The phone includes 14 ARRI Looks, with another 87 predefined color gradings available through the ARRI Look Library.
Optional accessories include HONOR’s G200 and G500 teleconverters and a SmallRig mobile video kit.
The Magic9 Pro Max uses an 8,800mAh silicon-carbon battery, or 8,600mAh rated capacity, with 100W wired and 80W wireless charging. Its 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, while HONOR claims peak brightness of up to 10,000 nits under supported conditions. The phone is rated IP68, IP69, and IP69K for dust and water resistance.
It runs MagicOS 11 based on Android 17. HONOR has added features including YOYO Memory, automated Video Highlights, multi-step YOYO Tasks, and file transfers with supported Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows devices.
The Pro Max is part of a three-phone Magic9 lineup alongside the standard Magic9 and Magic9 Super Edition. The standard model has an 8,000mAh battery, while the Super Edition goes considerably larger at 11,000mAh, meaning the Pro Max is not actually the battery-capacity leader of the series.
In China, the Magic9 Pro Max costs CNY 6,499 for 12GB+256GB, CNY 6,999 (about PHP 65,000) for 12GB+512GB, CNY 7,499 (about PHP 70,000) for 16GB+512GB, and CNY 8,499 (about PHP 79,000) for 16GB+1TB.
HONOR said regional rollout details for Southeast Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and other markets will be announced later. The company has not announced Philippine pricing or availability for the Magic9 Pro Max.
