Microsoft is expanding Copilot with tools for building apps and running tasks that continue after a user leaves the conversation. The company announced Home, Code, and Autopilot on September 25, bringing more workplace tasks into a single app.
Access will start through limited rollouts. Home and Code are entering Microsoft’s Frontier early-access program, and Autopilot will expand to private preview at the end of September.
Autopilot is the part designed for ongoing assignments. Microsoft said the cloud-hosted agent can monitor Teams channels, follow up on discussions, and resume work days later without a fresh prompt.
Users give it a role, a goal, and boundaries for what it can do. It can work through Teams, Outlook, and other Microsoft 365 tools, with permissions and audit controls, according to Microsoft.
Home brings Copilot Chat and Cowork together. Chat handles questions and drafts. Cowork is for longer assignments, such as preparing a customer briefing.
Code lets users describe an app or workflow they want to build. Microsoft said it can produce tools such as trackers, dashboards, and internal apps that colleagues can share.
Code is scheduled to enter Frontier at the end of September, with broader availability in the following weeks. A separate preview for Microsoft 365 Premium and Pro subscribers is planned for later in 2026.
Cost is another consideration for Philippine businesses and schools evaluating the features. Microsoft said Cowork, Code, and Autopilot use usage-based billing, so customers will need to account for consumption when budgeting for these tools.
The announcement does not specify Philippine rollout dates, local account eligibility, or Philippine pricing for the new capabilities.
