Sony has formally introduced its latest ULT POWER SOUND party speakers in the Philippines, bringing the ULT TOWER MAX, ULT TOWER 7 and ULT TOWER 5 to local buyers.
The company showcased the three models during its Beyond the Beat event at COVE Manila, Okada Manila, on September 19. They are now available through Sony Centres and authorized dealers nationwide.
Philippine launch prices are PHP 88,889 for the ULT TOWER MAX, PHP 38,889 for the ULT TOWER 7 and PHP 22,229 for the ULT TOWER 5. The speakers had already begun appearing at local retailers ahead of the event.
At the top of the range, the ULT TOWER MAX uses two front woofers and a third rear woofer alongside midrange and tweeter units. Unlike the other two models, it runs from AC power rather than an internal battery. Sony lists the speaker at around 56.3kg, with integrated wheels helping move it between locations.
The smaller ULT TOWER 7 gets a rechargeable battery rated for up to 30 hours, while the ULT TOWER 5 is rated for up to 20 hours. Both are IPX4 splash-resistant when positioned vertically, making them better suited to portable use.
All three offer ULT1 and ULT2 sound modes for different bass profiles, alongside FLAT and LIVE modes and a 10-band custom equalizer through Sony Sound Connect. They also support inputs intended for karaoke and DJ setups.
Sony has also introduced a new Party Chain feature based on Auracast. It can synchronize playback across as many as 100 compatible ULT TOWER MAX, TOWER 7 and TOWER 5 speakers. However, Sony says the system is separate from its older Party Connect and Wireless Party Chain technologies, so speakers using those systems cannot join the new Party Chain network.
The Philippine event also introduced SB19 as the newest member of Sony’s ULT Squad, alongside performances from other local artists including KAIA, Maki and Jeremy G.
