Razer is bringing the Mako name back to its desktop audio lineup with two speaker systems: the 2.1-channel Mako and the smaller 2.0-channel Mako X. The original Mako launched in 2008.
The Mako uses two 2.75-inch full-range drivers and a forward-firing 3.5-inch subwoofer. Its Chroma RGB lighting projects color onto the wall behind the speakers rather than underneath them. Razer’s launch release rates the system at 40W RMS and 60W peak, with frequency response reaching down to 45Hz.
The Mako X drops the separate subwoofer for a pair of 2.75-inch drivers with integrated passive radiators. Razer rates it at up to 30W RMS and 45W peak, with response down to 60Hz. It uses 10-zone Chroma RGB underglow beneath the speakers.
Both models support USB-C audio, Bluetooth 5.3, a 3.5mm input, and virtual 7.1 surround sound. Razer says the surround feature requires Windows 11 or later.
The Mako X can run at up to 15W through its main USB-C connection. Razer says connecting another USB-C power source rated at 30W or higher can increase output. The adapter and additional power cable are sold separately.
The Mako X is listed at USD 99.99 (about PHP 6,000) with availability from October 6, 2026. The Mako, meanwhile, is priced at USD 149.99 (about PHP 9,000) and is scheduled for December.
Razer says the Mako X will be sold through Razer.com, RazerStores, and authorized retailers worldwide.
The original Mako was developed with help from THX and used THX Ground Plane technology and ClassHD amplification. The company later discontinued the line before bringing the name back for the 2026 models.
