ShopeeFood has begun rolling out in the Philippines, launching on September 16 to selected users and cities in Metro Manila as part of an initial soft launch.
The food delivery service is available directly inside the main Shopee app, so users do not need to download a separate app or create another account. Shopee says availability remains limited and that it will gradually expand the service to more areas and users.
ShopeeFood also brings familiar parts of the company’s shopping ecosystem into food delivery, including ShopeePay, Shopee Coins, vouchers, and discounts. Initial restaurant partners promoted for the Philippine rollout include McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, Domino’s, Taco Bell, Dairy Queen, Krispy Kreme, and Potato Corner.
Not everyone in Metro Manila will see ShopeeFood in their app yet. Shopee has not published a complete list of cities included in the initial rollout or announced a timetable for availability elsewhere in the Philippines.
Its arrival adds another established regional player to a Philippine food delivery market led by Grab. Momentum Works estimates Grab accounted for close to two-thirds of Philippine food delivery platform gross merchandise value in 2025. ShopeeFood, meanwhile, overtook foodpanda to become Southeast Asia’s second-largest food delivery platform by GMV that year.
For Shopee, integrating food delivery into an app already used for e-commerce and payments gives it an existing pool of users to introduce to the service. For Filipino consumers, the more immediate question is how quickly ShopeeFood expands beyond its limited Metro Manila rollout — and whether its vouchers and existing rewards ecosystem can translate into sustained competition with GrabFood and foodpanda.
